The 10th World Junior Wushu Championships opens in Tianjin

On the afternoon of March 25, 2026, the opening ceremony of the 10th World Junior Wushu Championships was held at the Gymnasium of Tianjin Normal University (TNU).

Themed "Wushu Connects the World, Harmony for Youth" and with the slogan "Wushu Dreams, Achieved in Tianjin", the championships gathered 1,179 young athletes from 78 countries and regions across the globe in Tianjin, staging a vibrant youth wushu gala that blends international vision, Chinese cultural heritage and Tianjin's local characteristics.

Organized by the International Wushu Federation, and co-hosted by the Chinese Wushu Association and Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Sports, the event will run from March 26 to 30, 2026, covering two major competitive categories: martial arts routinesand free combat.

As the highest-level and most influential junior wushu event under the International Wushu Federation, these championships not only provides a premium platform for global young martial artists to compete, exchange skills and pursue their dreams, but also injects new momentum into the global development of wushu and the international spread of fine traditional Chinese culture.
