The 76th Qiushi Forum of Tianjin Normal University (TNU) took place on April 13. Cao Zexian, a researcher at the Institute of Physics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), a scholar of the "Hundred Talents Program" of the CAS, and a doctoral supervisor, was invited to give an academic lecture. Over 200 TNU faculty members and students attended the lecture.

Cao Zexian gives an academic lecture at TNU.

The lecture was titled "Blackbody Radiation: A Goose That Lays the Golden Eggs of Physics". Cao discussed the changes in the history of physics as well as teaching and learning methods in physics from three aspects: a review of the history of physics, the teaching of physics, and the study of physics.

He said that the issue of blackbody radiation is the cradle of modern physics. By reviewing the details of blackbody radiation research, one can better understand the history of this discipline. He also encouraged TNU faculty members and students to challenge themselves in research and learning, and to contribute to the development of new quality productive forces in the new era of physics.

After the lecture, those present at the forum conducted lively discussions with Cao on the learning methods of physics and the interaction between teaching and learning.
