First Thai Chinese teacher development camp takes place in Bangkok

The first Thailand Local Chinese Teacher Development Camp, jointly hosted by the Chinese Teachers (Thailand) Association, Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU) and the Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute of Tianjin Normal University (TNU), was held on April 1-3 at DPU in Bangkok, Thailand.

A total of 150 local Chinese teachers in Thailand participated in the event.

During the camp, Jia Wei and Xie Xiaonan from TNU delivered lectures on "Courseware and Micro-lecture Production Based on Generative AI" and "Design of Classroom Activities for Chinese Teaching" respectively.

Jia Wei, vice-dean of TNU’s College of Fine Arts and Design, spoke on the topic "Courseware and Micro-lecture Production Based on Generative AI," demonstrating the methods and practical cases of using generative artificial intelligence technology to create teaching courseware and micro-lectures. This opened new teaching design ideas for the teachers and sparked widespread interest.

Xie Xiaonan delivers a lecture on "Design of Classroom Activities for Chinese Teaching" at DPU.

Xie Xiaonan gave a presentation titled "Design of Classroom Activities for Chinese Teaching”, sharing in-depth and accessible insights into classroom activity design concepts and practical cases. Emphasizing the importance of activity design in Chinese teaching, she delved into how to inspire students' learning motivation and interest through engaging activities, thereby improving teaching effectiveness.

The Maritime Silk Road Confucius Institute (Thailand) is the second Confucius Institute established by TNU in Thailand in 2015. Over the past decade, it has made outstanding contributions to the improvement and promotion of Chinese education in Thailand, as well as to the cultural exchanges between China and Thailand.
