Project led by Professor Li Yuping of TNU is on the approval list of NSSFC

The National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC) has recently released the list of the 2023 approved major projects, with the "Collection of Ancient Chinese Classics and Japanese Ancient Manuscripts" project led by Professor Li Yuping from Tianjin Normal University (TNU) on the list.

The research team of this project consists of key lecturers in the fields of Chinese linguistics, the history of Chinese classics, classical Chinese literature, Japanese sinology, and Japanese language and literature. The team has gathered experts and scholars from Peking University, Shaanxi Normal University, TNU, Kyoto University (Japan), and Nanzan University (Japan).

Dedicated to constructing a distinctive academic and discursive system in China, the team led by Professor Li focuses on the excavation and systematic organization of ancient Chinese classic texts and ancient Japanese manuscripts. This project is expected to have a leading and exemplary role in the field, as well as provide great convenience for various disciplines such as Chinese literature, foreign literature, linguistics, bibliography, and Chinese history.

In recent years, TNU has accumulated a total of 22 approved national major projects. These major projects have served as a driving force for constructing distinctive Chinese philosophy and social sciences and inheriting excellent traditional Chinese culture. Going forward, TNU will further optimize its academic innovation and effectively enhance its capability to undertake major national scientific research tasks.
