Tianjin Normal University (TNU) has made major strides toward construction of high-end think tanks. The recently announced list of the first batch of high-end think tanks in Tianjin has included, two TNU research institutions as high-end think tanks while the third recognized as a high-end nurturing think tank in the North China metropolitan.

In recent years, TNU has relied on its advantageous disciplines to build a distinctive cluster of think tanks. Currently, it has three high-end think tanks in Tianjin (including one nurturing think tank), seven university think tanks in Tianjin (including one nurturing think tank), three information think tanks under the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee, and 11 think tanks listed in the China Think Tank Index (CTTI).

With its high-level think tank resources, TNU has gradually developed its research strengths in such areas as national security, social governance, mental health, international communication, basic education, ideological construction, rural revitalization and the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. It has contributed a large number of high-quality policy consultation results, among which more than 60 have received instructions from leaders of the central government and over 1,000 have been adopted by governmental authorities at multiple levels.

Going forward, TNU will continue to focus on the construction of high-end think tanks in Tianjin, closely follow the issues related with social and economic development, and actively conduct forward-looking policy research, aiming to provide high-level intellectual support for the development of the national and local economy and society.
