Tianjin Normal University (TNU) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Tianjin University on Dec 26, 2023, with the attendance of leaders from the two universities as well as Tianjin municipal education authorities.

Qu Kai, secretary of the CPC TNU Committee, highlighted that TNU is the only normal university in Tianjin that focuses on cultivating high-quality teachers for basic education, providing important support for basic education in Tianjin. This collaboration between the two universities aims to achieve complementarity in disciplines, further promoting in-depth communication and innovative integration between high-level universities and serving the high-quality development of Tianjin's economy and society.

Yang Xianjin, secretary of the CPC Tianjin University Committee, stated that Tianjin University actively integrates itself into Tianjin’s economic and social development, attaches great importance to cooperation and exchanges with other universities in Tianjin, and has made positive progress in cooperation with TNU in such areas as mental health education, faculty training, and group assistance to universities in western China. Both universities will take this agreement as an opportunity to further deepen cooperation and jointly promote the integration of education, science and technology, and talent development, thereby generating a multiplier effect to drive high-quality development.

Going forward, the two universities will engage in deep cooperation in disciplines development, student cultivation, scientific research, personnel training, international exchanges, and other areas, so as to interconnect resources, jointly apply for national high-level research projects, and share high-quality international educational resources. Together, the two sides will promote the high-quality development of Tianjin’s universities.
