The 8th International Elites’ Forum of Tianjin Normal University (TNU) took place on Dec 26, 2023, seeing the participation of over a hundred experts and scholars.

Qu Kai, secretary of the CPC TNU Committee, delivered a speech at the forum, and Tong Dezhi, vice president of TNU, hosted the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Qu extended his warm welcome to all participants and emphasized that TNU has always regarded talent as its primary resource. The university will continue to increase its support to and provide quality services for high-level talents, deepen the reform of its talent development system and mechanisms, steadily improve the scale and quality of high-level talents, and continuously optimize its talent structure.

He also expressed his hope that this forum would serve as an opportunity to invite experts, scholars, and young talents to choose TNU and root themselves at the university, where they could jointly compose a splendid chapter in the construction of a high-level TNU in the new era.

During the opening ceremony, Professor Yang Songtao from Henan University, Professor Bai Weijun from Inner Mongolia University, Professor Li Chunju, dean of the School of Chemistry at TNU, and Professor Wang Honglong, a distinguished professor and tenured professor at the University of Calgary in Canada, delivered keynote speeches. They introduced their own learning and work experiences, shared their outstanding contributions and achievements in their respective research fields, and expressed gratitude for the strong support provided by TNU in terms of talent policies, career environment, and service guarantees.

Sub-forums are held on a disciplinary basis.

Additionally, 21 sub-forums were held on a disciplinary basis.

Since 2018, TNU has held eight sessions of the International Elites’ Forum. More than 400 experts, scholars, and young talents with significant influence and outstanding achievements from over 10 countries attended the event either on site or online. TNU aims to build the forum into a platform for career development, facilitating communication in various disciplines, and expanding the achievements in talent recruitment and intellectual introduction.
