On Dec 16, the first Tianjin Normal University’s (TNU) Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Basic Education Forum took place in Tianjin, with the participation of nearly 100 attendees.
This event was sponsored by the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission and hosted by TNU and the Changjiang Education Research Institute (CERI). Professionals, including experts and scholars from universities in the three regions, leaders from the local education bureaus, principals and teachers from primary and secondary schools, as well as relevant department heads from TNU, attended the forum.
Qu Kai, secretary of the CPC TNU Committee, addressed the forum; Tong Dezhi, vice president of TNU, delivered a keynote speech at the ceremony.

Zhou Hongyu, president of the CERI and Institute for Educational Governance Studies, Central China Normal University, said that having been held for 10 consecutive sessions, this forum has been upgraded this year to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Basic Education Forum. It has become a high-level platform for in-depth discussions on national basic education reform and development trends, and an experience sharing, cooperation and exchange channel in the field of basic education.

Qu Kai stressed that TNU has actively promoted the coordinated development of education in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. It has demonstrated the responsibility in the joint construction and sharing of educational resources, inter-school cooperation and exchange, and collaborative innovation in teacher development.
During the opening ceremony, Tianjin Normal University Binhai Affiliated School, Tianjin Normal University Binhai Affiliated Primary School, Yaozhan Middle School and the Third Primary School in Weichang Manchu and Mongolian autonomous county were honored as the "Life · Practice" Education Experimental Schools of the Teacher Education Reform Experimental Zone at TNU.
TNU, the Chengde Municipal Education Bureau, and the Education and Sports Bureau of Weichang Manchu and Mongolian autonomous county sign a cooperative agreement for teacher development at the forum.
In addition, TNU, the Chengde Municipal Education Bureau, and the Education and Sports Bureau of Weichang Manchu and Mongolian autonomous county have signed a cooperative agreement to work together to create a new chapter in the coordinated development of basic education in the three regions.
