The first Chinese Language Learning and Testing Centers in China and in Vietnam were unveiled at Tianjin Normal University (TNU) on August 18.

The center in China is a collaboration between Chinese Testing International Co. (CTI) and TNU, while the one in Vietnam is a joint effort between CTI, TNU and Thanh Dong University (Viet Nam).

The first Chinese Language Learning and Testing Centers in China and in Vietnam were unveiled at TNU on August 18.

Liu Yiman, deputy secretary of the Education Working Committee of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, emphasized the importance of language in communication, understanding, and building mutual trust. She said that the establishment of Chinese language testing centers in China and Vietnam symbolizes a new highlight for Tianjin education’s globalization and meet the growing demand for Chinese language learning, benefiting teachers and students worldwide.

Zhong Yinghua, deputy secretary of the CPC TNU Committee and president of the university, said the establishment of the centers marks the birth of an innovative and integrated institution for Chinese language learning. He said he believes that it will greatly enhance the convenience of Chinese teaching and learning worldwide, meeting the needs of standardized training, testing, teacher training, and international certification in Chinese education. It will also attract more outstanding foreign students to study in Tianjin and other parts of China, serving as a vital bridge that connects and supports Chinese education teachers and students at home and abroad, Zhong added.

Li Peize, chairman and general manager of CTI, praised TNU for its support in international Chinese education by making itself the largest international Chinese education center. He also highlighted the significance of the Chinese Language Learning and Testing Center at Thanh Dong University (Viet Nam) as a symbol of language and cultural cooperation between China and other countries. Li expressed his hope for comprehensive cooperation between the center at Thanh Dong University (Viet Nam) and CTI in areas such as Chinese language learning and testing, local Chinese teacher training and certification, student exchange programs, interdisciplinary research collaboration, and professional skills, in order to contribute to the common development of both institutions.

Nguyen Thi Hoa Ly, vice-president of Thanh Dong University (Viet Nam), thanked the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, CTI, and TNU for their support. She said that Thanh Dong University (Viet Nam), as a private one approved by the Ministry of Education of Vietnam, focuses on international development and has received unanimous support from its board of directors to establish the Chinese Language Learning and Testing Center. She added that the university will continue to invest in human resources and facilities to develop the center.

The CTI is an international Chinese education examination company providing integrated solutions for Chinese education, examination certification, and related services worldwide. The company offers comprehensive services based on the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), Youth Chinese Test (YCT), Medical Chinese Test (MCT), and the Chinese Language Proficiency Standard, including international Chinese teaching, testing, teacher training, certification, and study abroad programs. It provides standardized curriculum systems, materials, and teacher training, along with Chinese language examinations and teacher certification.
