The council meeting of the Confucius Institute at the Mansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU) in Thailand was held at Tianjin Normal University (TNU) on May 23rd. Leaders and representatives from both sides attended the meeting to discuss the achievements and work plan of the Confucius Institute.

Du Yining, Chinese director of the Confucius Institute, reported that the Confucius Institute at BSRU and BSRU have worked together to strengthen and improve the Chinese language standardization series exam, established a specialized training program for HSK, and have conducted five exams with 548 participants. He added that the Confucius Institute has also recommended outstanding students to study in China and organized training for local Chinese language teachers in Thailand.
Sutipporn Chotratanasak, vice-president of BSRU and Thai director of the Confucius Institute, made a report on the financial statements and annual budget of the Confucius Institute. She stated that, with the joint efforts of both China and Thailand, the Confucius Institute strictly adheres to financial regulations and fully maximizes its benefits. Then she said that this year’s annual budget submission is proceeding according to plan.
Linda Gainma, BSRU president, pointed out in her speech that since its establishment in 2006, the Confucius Institute has played a crucial role as a platform and link for educational exchanges and cooperation between the two schools, gaining widespread recognition and a sound reputation in Thailand. She praised the efforts of Tianjin Normal University's leaders and teachers in developing and promoting the Confucius Institute’s reputation in Thailand. She encouraged further expansion of cooperation between the schools, including the building of a Chinese library, enriching interactions between teachers and students, the joint training of Chinese teaching personnel to cultivate more high-level talents in Chinese, and to make the Confucius Institute a model for promoting friendly exchange between the two countries.
Zhong Yinghua, TNU president, expressed his hope that the Confucius Institute would focus on local students and their needs, prioritize language teaching and teacher education, and promote innovation and development. He pointed out the need to leverage the Confucius Institute's library resources to establish a Chinese language library, deepen cooperation with BSRU’s Chinese Department in the internship program for teacher training, and to explore effective ways to improve the quality of Chinese education in promoting collaboration and exchanges between the two countries to maximize the value of the Confucius Institute.
After the council meeting, the Thai delegation visited TNU’s School of Music and Film and School of Fine Arts and Design, for in-depth exchanges with their leaders and key teachers. They observed art classes and watched performances by students, exploring collaborative opportunities with TNU’s art schools.

TNU and BSRU established a friendly and cooperative relationship in 2005, and the Confucius Institute jointly established by the two universities was unveiled on December 19, 2006, and has since focused on local teacher training. It has received several honors, including being named an "Advanced Confucius Institute" globally. Its influence in Thailand continues to expand, serving as an important case for the construction and sustainable development of Confucius Institutes in Thailand.
