Tianjin Normal University's undergraduate teaching emphasizes discipline and curriculum construction while strengthening practical education. The university champions student-centered, output-oriented education that continuously improves and adapts to their unique characteristics. The ultimate goal is to train excellent teachers and specialized talents with comprehensive skills in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor.

The university offers 74 undergraduate majors in nine disciplines: economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management, and art. The undergraduate program prioritizes majors in arts and sciences and fosters interdisciplinary integration to create a comprehensive and rational structure with distinct advantages and characteristics.

The school prioritizes education and boasts impressive achievements in talent cultivation. It offers 26 national first-class undergraduate programs and 14 provincial first-class undergraduate programs. There are six distinctive programs supported by the Ministry of Education, 16 branded majors selected by the Tianjin government. A total of 15 courses have been approved as national-level first-class undergraduate courses and 42 recognized as provincial-level first-class. Additionally, nine courses have been designated as national-level premium resource sharing courses, and 25 as municipal-level premium courses. The school boasts a national-level teaching team and 20 municipal-level teams. Students and faculty have won various awards, such as two gold, two silver, and 19 bronze medals, as well as awards for being an advanced collective in the China International "Internet+" College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. It has been recognized as a demonstration university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in Tianjin. Students have also won first place in the China Undergraduate Computer Design Competition, the Mathematical Contest in Modeling/Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (MCM/ICM) in the United States, the World University Bridge Championships, and the China Undergraduate Taekwondo Championships, the 14th Games of China's Higher Education Institutions, and the 20th National Collegiate Athletics Championships.

The campus culture is rich and diverse with influential cultural events, including "Fortnightly Concerts" and the "Bi-monthly Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition". These cultural activities help improve students' cultural appreciation and aesthetic awareness.
