The School of Preschool Education was established in 2001. Its predecessor, Tianjin Normal School of Preschool Education, was the earliest of its kind in China. Over the past years of development, with nearly 20,000 highly qualified specialists in preschool education and related fields produced by the school, it has earned a remarkable reputation as one of the top institutions of its kind in China.

The school provides three majors: Pre-school Education, Early Childhood Education, and Fine Arts Education. It has a complete talent cultivation system. Graduates have good qualities, professional ethics, mastery of knowledge and skills, and lifelong learning and sustainable development abilities. The employment rate has remained above 95 percent for several years.

The school has a highly qualified faculty team with a well-balanced age and educational background structure. About 43 percent of its teachers hold an associate senior title. They prioritize both teaching and scientific research, and have achieved remarkable success in recent years. One textbook won second prize at the National Textbook Construction Award, and several others have been selected as teaching materials for the national 14th Five-Year Plan for Vocational Education. The school has also won four teaching achievement awards at the municipal level, and has obtained over 20 provincial and ministerial-level projects. Furthermore, its teachers have received esteemed titles such as the National Civilized Women Post and Excellent Teachers in Tianjin.

The school values practical skills training and teaches by combining theory with practice, with specialized classrooms and professional training labs for majors such as music, dance, fine arts, calligraphy, and multimedia technology. There are also many internship and practical training opportunities for students in 71 kindergartens and pre-school institutions throughout the city. This ensures that each student receives adequate hands-on experience and training each academic year.

The school promotes student development and has a diverse campus culture. Over 10 student clubs are available, including music and dance clubs, which win prizes in competitions. Students won over 40 first prizes in the past three years in skills competitions, contests, and exhibitions in Tianjin.
