Since its establishment in 2003, TNU’s School of Management has continuously expanded its size, improved its educational standards, and enhanced the quality of its talent training, cultivating a large number of talents in modern enterprise management, logistics management and information application.
The school has 96 faculty members, of which 49 percent hold senior professional titles, and 60% hold doctoral degrees. Several distinguished professors and scholars serve on committees and evaluation groups related to their fields, and several courses have been rated as either excellent or exemplary courses at the municipal level.
The school boasts the Data Analysis and Business Intelligence Experimental Center, which has an investment of over 20 million yuan and includes the Big Data and Business Intelligence Laboratory Cloud Platform, and the Smart Logistics Laboratory. It has established close cooperation with Cainiao Network, a subsidiary of Alibaba, and set up a 100-square-meter end-to-end logistics comprehensive laboratory.It has also launched the "Entrepreneurs into the Classroom" program, hiring entrepreneurs as part-time professors. At the same time, it promotes practical teaching through the establishment of practice teaching bases with dozens of enterprises and institutions, such as Tianjin Archives and Tianjin Capital Environmental Protection Group. Thus students’ practical skills have been continuously improved. In recent years, more than 40 students have won awards in five national professional competitions and 36 provincial and ministerial-level ones.
The school has three first-level master degree disciplines, namely, Business Administration, Management Science and Engineering, and Information Resource Management, and offers master's degree programs in Enterprise Management, Accounting, Management Science and Engineering, Archival Studies, Information Science, and Library Science. Additionally, it has authorization to confer two professional master's degrees: Business Administration and Library and Information Science.
In recent years, the college has undertaken one major bidding project of the National Social Science Fund and two key projects of the National Social Science Foundation, as well as more than 20 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation and National Social Science Fund, and over 30 provincial-level projects. Nearly a hundred papers have been published in journals at home and abroad, and the Tianjin Public Sector Information Service Evaluation and Governance Center has been selected by the CTTI for inclusion in its think-tank database.
The school has a high degree of internationalization. Its joint graduate program with South Korea's Sehan University has been running for ten years, producing nearly 2,000 talents. It has established its Accounting (International Accounting) major with a curriculum designed to international standards. It values international exchanges and cooperation among teachers and has sent 15 teachers to study and work in renowned universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Finland, and other countries.
