School of Electronic and Communication Engineering

The School of Electronic and Communication Engineering has two departments: Electronic Information Science and Technology, and Communication Engineering. It owns the Tianjin Electronic and Communication Engineering Experiment Center and the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Wireless Mobile Communication and Radio Energy Transmission. The school offers two undergraduate majors: Electronic Information Science and Technology, and Communication Engineering.

The school attaches great importance to teaching quality as well as students' practical capabilities and professional skills.

The school features cooperative education and has established joint training bases with well-known universities in countries like the United States and the United Kingdom.

The school has a first-level master's degree program in information and communication engineering, which is a municipal-level key discipline. It also boasts a professional master's degree program in communication engineering (including broadband networks and mobile communications).

The Key Laboratory of Wireless Mobile Communication and Radio Energy Transmission of Tianjin, built on the strength of the school, is the only provincial key research platform engaged in wireless mobile communication in Tianjin.

The school has 27 professors and associate professors, and 13 of them are senior talents at national and Tianjin levels. All its full-time teachers have a PhD.

The school has been granted 33 National Natural Science Fund projects and has over 70 ongoing research projects. Its teachers have published over 400 papers, of which more than 200 have been included in SCI. Through the joint efforts of its faculty and staff, the school strives to rank first among normal universities in the next disciplinary evaluation.
